1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your computer or mobile device. They are commonly used to make websites function, remember preferences, or track visitor statistics.
2. Cookies on privan.com
PRIVAN only uses functional cookies that are strictly necessary for the website and application to function. We do not place any tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies.

Application (app.privan.com)
The PRIVAN application places the following cookies to keep you logged in and to secure the application:

The application also uses your browser's session storage to remember whether you have already seen the introduction to a scan report. It is gone as soon as you close the tab.
All these cookies are needed to make the website and the application work and to secure them, so they do not require consent (Article 11.7a(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act). We do not use them for marketing. The security cookies are placed by Bunny.net, our European CDN.
3. Visitor statistics
We use Simple Analytics to gain insight into how our website is used. Simple Analytics is a privacy-friendly analytics service that:
- Does not place cookies
- Does not store IP addresses
- Does not collect personal data
- Does not need consent
- Stores data within the EU
Because Simple Analytics does not use cookies and does not process personal data, no cookie banner or consent is required.
4. Third-party services
On privan.com we do not load any third-party scripts or services that place cookies. The Simple Analytics script runs through our own domain and places no cookies. Our fonts are hosted on our own server and do not come from external services such as Google Fonts. No advertising networks, social media plugins, or external widgets are loaded. In the application, only Bunny.net places cookies, for the security described above.
5. Managing cookies
The functional cookies we place are needed for the website and the application to work properly. If you block them, your language choice will not be remembered and you cannot log in to the application.
You can always manage cookies from other websites through your browser settings:

- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions
6. Changes
If we start using cookies that require consent, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first through a cookie banner. The most current version is always available on this page.
